On Saturday July 3, 2010, Sarah Parkerson and Stephen Day celebrated their marriage with a beautiful garden inspired reception at Cobblestone Hall.
A delicious menu was provided by Catering Works and beautiful floral arrangements from Petal Pushers helped to make the room look phenomenal. Growing up in Scotland, the bride wanted traditional Scottish music performed by a live band. The guests had a blast learning the steps and dancing the night away! Guests also had a lot of fun taking pictures in the photo booth that was complete with funky sunglasses, feather boas, picture frames, and many other creative props. It was very popular and everyone really enjoyed taking pictures all night!
At the end of the evening, guests lined the cobblestone streets with giant
sparklers and began to sing The Temptations’ “My Girl” and saw the bride and groom off. Showtime Events would like to offer a huge congratulations to the bride and groom and wish them many years of happiness!
Priscilla of Boston has opened a new store in downtown Raleigh . To commemorate the occasion, the world famous wedding gown store has partnered with wedding planner Barbara Clark to come up with six dresses to be paired with six unique wedding venues throughout the Triangle Area.
Cobblestone Hall was one of the 6 unique wedding venues chosen to be part of the article. Our venue was paired with a beautiful trumpet-style gown and the look was given the name “The Downtown Dame.”
It perfectly matches the historical elegance and traditional feel of Cobblestone Hall while simultaneously bringing in a bit of modern flair. Priscilla of Boston is a highly esteemed company with locations all throughout the nation and we are sure that it will make a great addition to the Triangle area!
Cobblestone Hall is an event space managed and operated by Showtime Events in Raleigh, NC.
On Sunday, June 27, 2010 Cobblestone Hall was honored to be a big part of the marriage of Jessica Zabarsky and Mike El Mann. This special event was
the first time Cobblestone Hall was the location for both the ceremony and reception. A focal part of the ceremony was the stunning Chuppah created by Fresh Affairs that the couple was married under. The following reception also featured centerpieces and candle arrangements from Fresh Affairs that added wonderful colors to the entire facility.
The food was provided by Mitchell’s Catering and guests dined on a menu of wild mushroom crostinis, watermelon and red onion salad, and herbed roulade of wild salmon with summer vegetable couscous, roasted red pepper-orange vinaigrette, and bundle of summer beans. This was accompanied by baked challah rolls and a beautiful multi tiered red velvet wedding cake. LED lighting around the perimeter of the room and 12 foot high custom Austrian swag draping connected the entire room together for both the ceremony and reception.

After dinner the guests got out of their seats with Ken from Bunn DJ Company getting the party started and keeping everyone dancing until late in the evening. It really was a fantastic afternoon and evening that will not soon be forgotten. We would like to congratulate Jessica and Mike again for letting us be a part of their special day and wish then nothing but happiness in the future.
On June 8, 2010 Progress Energy hosted a spectacular dinner at Cobblestone Hall. Employees from Progress Energy and affiliates all around the world gathered to network and enjoy an authentic North Carolina feast featuring pulled pig, brisket, homemade green bean casserole, baked beans, sweet tea, and much more. The fabulous food was provided by Empire Eats and The Pit.
As an added bonus for their guests, The Pit’s pitmaster Ed Mitchell, who has been featured in The New York Times, Gourmet Magazine, and many other national publications, was present during the event and spoke with all of the guests. He also got the evening started by welcoming them and telling them to “dive right in and eat!”
A live band helped to set the mood for the night and gave the event a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall the evening was a success and we were honored to work with Progress Energy and make their event such a success.
Wedding season officially got started at Cobblestone Hall on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Holly and Emmett celebrated their big day with a beautiful reception at Cobblestone Hall along with 200 of their friends and family. The guests danced and toasted Holly and Emmett until late in the evening and everyone had an amazing time.
One of the challenges during the reception was the fact that Artsplosure, a massive annual arts festival that attracts over 50,000 people, had all of the streets in the entire surrounding area closed during the same weekend. Working with the Artsplosure organizers a back road into City Market was left open so we could get the wedding party and guests to the venue on time. On the day of the reception everything went smoothly and the event went off without any delays or issues.
All of us at Cobblestone Hall and Showtime Events want to congratulate Holly and Emmett (and their entire families) again. It was an honor to be part of the wonderful event and special day.
