This Saturday, July 24th, 2010, Showtime Events in Michigan got an opportunity to work with the American auto maker, Chrysler. The suburban Detroit based manufacturer rolled out the red carpet this weekend for their Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Gala.
The Gala, which was the first inaugural, was held at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Mi. was clearly the toast of the town this evening. The event was set up to honor the history of the Chrysler Corporation, raise funds for the museum, and recognize automotive icons. Racing legend, and honoree, Richard Petty made an appearance, along with a refurbished model of his old number 43 car. Late show talk host and funnyman Jay Leno was also honored, as was former Chrysler CEO Lee Iacocca. Former Chrysler designer Virgil Exner was also honored posthumously by the near 600 in attendance.
The entrance of the building was lined with classic Chrysler cars. Floating above each were Airstar Lunix 200 lighting balloons provided by Showtime Events. As darkness fell over the event, the cars were illuminated by the bright lights of the Airstar balloons, creating an outdoor exhibit for the guests to enjoy.
The Gala was a huge success, as $1 million was raised to support the museum. Showtime Events was honored to be part of the wonderful event.
